Welcome to the Giants 2015 NRRRL seaon.
The Giants Committee would like to thank all our supporters and sponsors for their support in the past years and hope that you will be again on board to maintain the successful culture we possess at Mullumbimby.
As a committee we are really enthusiastic for the coming season and look to build on the 2014 season. We have been fortunate enough to have countless kids come up through our junior ranks and perform in our senior teams. It is these younger Giants that we hope to see set the platform for performance and attitude at the club and play regular first grade in the 2015 season.
We have appointed English import Simon Moore as head coach for the 2015 season. Simon is in Australia for a year with his fiance Amy, Simon will be playing as well as coaching in 2015. Simon has already bonded with our Mullum boys and is eager to get stuck into he opposition with a youthful side behind him.
Wayde Kelly will be Vice Captain of the side along with helping Simon coach and train the boys throughout the season, We would like to thank both Simon and Wayde for the time they have put in to get the boys ready for the 2015 season. Unfortunately we will no be able to field a reserve grade side in 2015, due to not enough numbers, We are taking this as a positive as it will create a tight knit group and make the players have to train hard to earn their positions in A grade.
Tom McQueen has been once again appointed U/18s coach for the 2015 season. Tom coached the Under 18's last year, and has created great relationships with the boys. Once again it looks like a very strong 18s side that will help strengthen our club for many years to come.
The Giants could in no way succeed without its many volunteers and our sponsors. We are always looking for more helpers to lend a hand whether it be in the canteen, on the gate or just helping behind the scenes on the committee or setting up the field, the commitee and players would like to thank Wajan Watkins for taking on the position as Secretary, and all the work she has been doing to get the boys onto the paddock this upcoming season.
